CTHRA Launches Veteran Talent Task Force
In April, CTHRA announced the creation of an Advisory Task Force on Veteran Talent in the Media Industry to be chaired by Michael Powell, president and CEO of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA). The task force is charged with creating a multi-faceted action plan to attract, hire and retain military veterans to employment positions across the industry. As part of its efforts, the task force will showcase innovative and impactful military veteran hiring and retention initiatives and promote the industry as an attractive environment for veterans entering the civilian workforce after serving our country. 

“While many employers have successful veterans hiring programs in place, we believe that a collaborative, industrywide effort will increase the number of veterans attracted to and employed within our industry. CTHRA Symposium Theme Announced!
A team of industry HR pros are hard at work developing a reimagined CTHRA Symposium to ensure that it is the source for industry-specific HR knowledge. The theme of this year’s confab is Insight & Impact, and the can’t-miss event will take place at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on October 14. Member Accolades
This month, CTHRA Board Member NJ Pesci was promoted to executive vice president (EVP) of HR for Scripps Networks Interactive. Pesci, who has been guiding organizational design and talent management strategies at the company since 2010, will oversee all HR operations, with a focus on aligning recruiting, talent management and organizational design with the company’s operating objectives and long-term strategic growth priorities.
